Walt Wirfs

Life long artist, Walter Wirfs recently retired from the Forest Products Industry and is now devoting new found free time to his artistic pursuits.

Born in 1947 and living in Tillamook, Oregon through high school, Walt attended Oregon State University where he received a degree in Forestry before joining Willamette Industries and completing a thirty year career, holding senior management position with several Forest Products companies.

Walt and his wife, Charlotte, recently owned and operated a sawmill and log exporting business in Tacoma, Washington.

During his business career, Walt Continually expressed himself through his artistic talent and evolved a preference for oil and black-and-white depictions of candid, un-posed representations of human forms. This requires a multi-staged process beginning with quick sketches followed by conceptual development and final rendering in the studio.
